Dominic Moccia, RPA-C
Registered Physician Assistant, Dermatology
Dominic Moccia is a highly skilled, experienced physician assistant. He is board certified through the NCCPA, a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Diplomate of the SDPA. Dominic attended The University of Rhode Island with a double major in Biological Sciences and Italian language. He graduated summa cum laude with a Master’s in Business Administration. After university, Dominic moved to Italy to perfect his language skills and immerse himself in Italian culture. He returned to the States to attend the Physician Assistant training program at Mercy College. He graduated summa cum laude with a second Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. He extended his education to become a Diplomate of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) which means that he has achieved the highest educational honor available as a Dermatology PA. This impressive accomplishment has only been achieved by fewer than 50 PA’s in the state of NY.
Dominic’s first experience with a dermatologist was in high school when his acne became so severe that he required treatment to overcome painful, cystic acne. He found relief and clear skin with the prescription medication Accutane, a healthy diet and a careful skin care routine. His interest in dermatology expanded in college during his diving career as a Division I athlete. Constant exposure to chlorinated water and hydro-therapy made him prone to skin irritations, eczema and he suffered an outbreak of bacterial folliculitis. With effective treatments he was able to successfully advance his diving career.
Dominic credits his dermatologists for sparking his career in helping others. He’s developed a specific interest in acne care, sports dermatology, infectious diseases of the skin, cosmetic and laser treatments. His gentle touch allows him to provide natural looking cosmetic treatments with Botox, Dysport, Juvederm, Kybella and Restylane.
Dominic is a New Yorker, raised in Westchester County. He enjoys spending time with his traditional Italian family at Sunday dinners. He is an avid traveler, indoor cyclist and beach volleyball enthusiast with the Gotham Volleyball League
